Muscat, the sultanate's capital

Description

The city tour begins with a visit to the beautiful Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque. This is one of the largest mosques in the Middle East, an architectural and artistic masterpiece.

Later, we will drive along the picturesque "Muttrah Corniche" and visit Muttrah Souq which retains the chaotic interest of a traditional Arab market housed under a traditional timber roofing.

We will stroll through the Souq, where we will have the opportunity to buy Omani specialties like Frankincense, Khanjars (Omani daggers) and discover also the beautiful silver handicrafts and scarves.

It will be possible then to enjoy a moment walking along the corniche and admiring the coast views from the Mina Al Sultan Qaboos Port.

We will then visit Bait Al Zubair Museum, Where we will get a wealth of information about the country's structure, tradition and heritage.

Then it will be time to have a photo stop at the official residence of his Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said, The Al Alam Palace, which is flanked by the 16th century Portuguese forts of Mirani and Jalali.

From the Palace, you will travel through the old town, where we will pass between the original and traditional houses tlli the time of returning back to hotel /airport.
