Oman, The Treasure of Arabia tour package

After breakfast, pick up from the hotel to begin the tour of the city. Visit the «Great Mosque of Sultan Qaboos", an impressive master piece of the Islamic art.Then we'll go to see the oldest part of the city and walk through its narrow passages till we arrive to ''Bait al Zubair'', the museum of traditions and popular arts that tells some details about the past of the inhabitants of «Muscat», their customs and traces they left throughout history. A Stop, later, at the "Al Alam Palace'' one of the royal residences of the ''Sultan", in the heart of the modern part of the city and flanked by the two ancient Portuguese forts "Jalali» and «Mirani" dating back to the 16th century.

Later we will visit the ''Sooq of Muttrah'', the famous covered market in Muscat & the largest one in Oman. Built in a very traditional style, with a large part of its alleys covered with sculpted wooden ceilings and walls, where the exquisite gold & silver jewellery, the famous hand-made "Khanjars" (daggers) and the fine natural incenses are sold, among other artisanal products. Free time in the «Sooq», Then we return to the hotel.

 (night 02 in "Muscat")

Check-out from the hotel & drive along the charming coastal road till we arrive to "Fins" region where is located the majestic "Wadi Shab", a spectacular oasis spot in the middle of the high arid mountains. It is one of the most beautiful wadis or canyons known by its pools with clear deep blue water that excites every visitor to take a refreshing dip after a walking tour through the canyon. 

Then we will get a stop at the famous «Bimmah Sinkhole»an amazing big cavity filled with turquoise water that seems like an extraordinary crater engraved in the limestone. Time to swim and take photos before we continue to «Sur», one of the oldest cities of Oman that has played a prominent role in building maritime trade across the «Gulf of Oman», «Arabian Sea» and «Indian Ocean», forming business, economic & cultural exchanges between the "Arabian Peninsula" and the rest of the World. A panoramic visit of the city before we stop at the traditional "Dhow" building factory, where they are still using thetraditional ways to build those original boats known as the most robust ones in all the gulf region.

(night 03 in "Sur"). 

After breakfast, we'll take the road to «Wadi Bani Khalid", one of Oman's most beautiful "wadis" (river/canyon). This place has a clear blue water and counts among the few «wadis»of the Sultanate that holds water all along the year. From the mountain springs, the water is led to the oasis where it sustains the typical date palms. Free time to walk and swim into the fresh and crystalline water of the natural pools.

After the visit we will continue towards ''Wahiba Sands Desert" where the 4WD vehicles will be waiting for us for a special experience in which we live the adventure and raise the adrenaline by crossing the dunes of the Sahara and making bashing up and down through the golden sands until we reach our camp. Check-in, then we'll get a walk until the nearby dunes to enjoy a breath-taking sunset before dinner. Night of serenity and tranquillity in the heart of the Sahara and under a starry sky.

(night 04 in the desert camp).         

After breakfast, check-out from the desert camp and first stop will be at "Ibra" one of the oldest villages of Oman, land of many famous ancient tribes of the «Sharqiyah Region» and an important historical centre of trade, religion and education. A panoramic walk tour in the old village to discover its magnificent heritage before we continue towards "Nizwa", the cultural capital of Oman by excellence.

Visit of the very spectacular «Sooq of Nizwa" the traditional market, an authentic lively place of the town where we can discover how locals do their shopping according to auction from live animals to jewels & old daggers till fruits & vegetables. It is also the ideal location to purchase handicrafts and souvenirs. After enjoying the experience.

We will access to the imposing "Nizwa Fort», dating from the 17th century, with its massive circular cannon tower, one of the most impressive forts of Oman. Today, this very famous fort is a museum that displays the history of the monument itself and the surrounding area. This magnificent fortress was a base used by the militaries to hold off the hardest attacks and sieges . Walking through the fortress we'll get to see amazing views of the ancient town and the nearby mountains.After the visit check-in the hotel.

(night 05 in "Nizwa"). 

After breakfast, we will visit "Jabal Akhdar" ("the Green Mountain") , this very enchanting peak that dominates all the beautifull "Sayq Plateau"  famous for its magnificent labyrinth of «Wadis»(gorges/valleys) and for the terraced orchards, where ,essentially, roses grow in abundance due to the mild climate of that region . Then, we will continue towards «Birkat al Mooz», an authentic Omani village located at the foot of the mountain and camouflaged within the very tall and green palm groves and rural bananas plantations. A panoramic visit, before returning to the hotel, of the old burg with a walk through the oasis to discover its «Falaj» (a very ancestral irrigation system and network of ancient canalizations that continues to function to this day!) .After the visit, we will return back to "Nizwa"

(night 06 in "Nizwa"). 

After breakfast check-out from the hotel to go and visit the partially ruined old village of "Tanuf" ,which was once very famous for its typical own culture and simple lifestyle very distinguished from the rest of the country. The village was damaged and abandoned during the «Jabal Akhdar War»as a result of Oman's Imamate Rebellion of the 1950s.

Then we will visit the historical city of "Bahla", one of the smallest but oldest cities of Oman, which was in the 12th century the capital of the tribes that lived in that region. A panoramic tour of the city with a visit of its very famous and magnificent fortress, the oldest ever of all Oman with more than 3000 years old.

After that, we will continue to "Jabreen Castle", one of the most beautiful old castle in the whole country.This well preserved castle was designed by the "Imam Bin Seif" the governor of that region himself and constructed in the late 17th century located in the suburbs "Bahla" in the "Al Dakhiliyah".

Next visit is to "Misfat Al Abriyeen", a marvellous old village dominating a very beautiful oasis. Our walk will begin with an impressive panoramic tour above the terraced plantations of date palms till we get down to the bottom of the deep dry wadi. A spectacular sight that contrasts with the old houses simply built with stones & adobe according to the ancient methods and also with the ruined watchtower perched high on the mountain. A complete charming scene to discover and admire.

(night 07 "Misfat Al Abriyeen").

Visit ,in the morning ,of the imposing «Jabal Shams» ("the Mountain of the Sun») , where we will contemplate an unusual landscape and appreciate the impressive "Grand Canyon", the deepest one of all Oman and one of the wonders of mother nature. Walking around the abrupt hollow, we will be surprised by the infinite beautiful views.Back to «Misfat Al Abriyeen»for a free afternoon in the village.

(night 08 in  «Misfat Al Abriyeen») 

Our first stop will be in "Wadi Bani Awf», renowned as one of the most fantastic locations in the nearby area surrounding the "Nakhal" region. Once There, we will start an exhilarating trip over the mountains where many old villages are still Retaining their traditional charm.

After that, we will proceed to "Bilad Sayt" village, where we will have another interesting walk. It is one of the most magnificent mountain villages in Oman , "Bilad Sayt" is nestled within the "Hajar Mountains», deep in the Sultanate country side where Villagers are still practicing the traditional ways of farming that have helped them to resist for centuries. Then , we will continue to "Nakhal" , an authentic omani village where we will visit its 17th Century Fort built on the peak of a mountain and surrounded by very beautiful palms plantations and oasis.After That we will have a stop near the amasing warm water springs of "Ayn Athowarah" before we continue to «Muscat».
